poptech on again

This morning is starting out with the topic on taking on superpowers. The first speaker was Juan Enriques, who showed us http://www.mapsofwar.com/ which shows us the history of the middle east from a geopolitical perspective in about 90 seconds. He is talking about how borders are completely a human creation. He is talking about how flags and borders etc don’t matter nearly as much as how we treat each other. How many stars will the U.S. Flag have on it in x number of years? will we gain more states? loose some? Interesting debate. If you haven’t already check out the live stream online at http://live.poptech.org/ and watch it live.

So I’m on this job up in Camden, ME. It’s the Pop! Tech conference, up in small town Maine, looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I arrived yesterday after doing a shot in southern Maine for NBC Nightly news on Monday. The Conference starts tomorow morning. Yesterday just before I arrived here I stopped in Rockland, ME (15min south) to visit with Captain John Foss, of the American Eagle, and today, after finishing our set-up. I hiked up to the top of the mountain that looks out over the town and harbor of camden to take some pictures. Be sure to check them all out on my flickr account.
