All of our Hawaii Photos
Ok, so I finally did it, finished organizing all of the 1200 or so pictures we took on our trip to Hawaii at the beginning of the month, and got them all loaded up on my gallery. So head on over and take a peak at them, now that they are finally available. Hope you enjoy them!

Videos from Hawaii trip
Ok, so it took me a little bit to get all of the videos off of the camera and ready to be put together into a blog post, but here it is. These are videos we took while on our vacation to Hawaii that we just got back from. Let me know what you think, and there will be a photo gallery coming soon as well.
The view out of our balcony at the hotel our first night on Waikiki Beach.
Boarding a submarine
at depth in the submarine, down almost 100ft, the narration was in both Japanese and English, as more than half of the people in the sub were from Japan.
This is from after we got off of our dive on the submarine, watching the next group depart.
And the submarine dives with its next group of tourists.
This video was flying over the big island of Hawaii on the way to visit the volcano in a helicopter.
In this next video you can see that the doors are not on the helicopter, it was quite an experience, unfortunately we do not have any video of the volcano itself, but we do have plenty of pictures
and this is video of us landing back at Hilo airport after our adventure on the helicopter.
This is video of us driving over recent lava flows to reach the place where the lava from the current eruption is flowing into the sea. The large plume you see in the distance is actually steam coming up when the lava evaporates the seawater in its way.
These are much more close up video of the eruption currently going on on Kiluea.
This video was taken on the top of Mauna Kea, which we drove to the summit of, its almost 14k feet up there and the air is a little thin. We had a spectacular time during our drive and visited the keck observatory. It sure looks like the moon up there!
Driving back down the side of Mauna Kea, I think Alina thought we weren’t going to make it, but hey, look at us now, back in one piece.
This is a lighthouse at the far northern end of the big island, a place that not many people get to visit because it is down at the end of a really bumpy poorly maintained dirt track, but we made it there, right before a big storm came in, and got back out just in time for dusk, and a late night drive back to our bed and breakfast.
during our last day of vacation a large storm swept over Oahu, and unfortunately rained out our planned visit to the Arizona memorial. After most of the rain had passed we were able to go on a driving tour which was quite eye-opening. These waves are incredibly tall, and being driven in by the storm. If you look closely you can see people out in it, a bit crazy, but they appeared to be having a good time. Also in the background to the right hand side you can see the blowhole occasionally going off. This was on the northeastern end of Oahu.

Travel delays
Well, it looks like it may be a little difficult for us to make it up to vermont this weekend. Take a look at this radar image. And there is going to be a storm on sunday as well. Everyone be safe out there and don’t get stuck in the snow.
